Overview
FindMySportsTrainer is a comprehensive platform that connects athletes and fitness enthusiasts with verified sports trainers based on their location and sport preference. The goal of the project was to simplify the process of finding a specialized trainer in one's area, enhancing accessibility to fitness coaching and personalized training.
Research
In the research phase, we analyzed platforms like Contra and Angie's List to understand how location-based searches and trainer-client matching worked. User interviews with trainers and sports enthusiasts revealed gaps in current solutions primarily around the difficulty of filtering by specific sports and finding nearby trainers quickly. These insights were essential in shaping the platform's key features, including location-based searches and customizable profile setups for trainers.
Concept
"FindMySportsTrainer" is a sports platform designed to connect athletes and fitness enthusiasts with verified sports trainers based on location and sport specialization. The concept focuses on simplifying the process of finding the right trainer, providing a platform where users can search for local experts and trainers can promote their services to a wider audience.
Design
The design process began with Figma wireframes and prototypes, focusing on simplicity and user experience. The user interface was designed to be intuitive and mobile-responsive, making it easy for both students and trainers to navigate. Special care was given to the user journey, from sign-up to search and booking. Features like dynamic filters (sport, zip code) and interactive profiles were added to create an engaging and seamless experience
Development
The web application was built using Bubble, a no-code platform perfect for quickly developing and iterating on complex web apps. With Bubble, we implemented key features such as user authentication, trainer profile creation, and zip code-based search functionality. Through integrations and workflows, the app connects users with trainers, allowing for location-based discovery and a seamless booking process. The responsive design ensured the application worked across all devices, offering a smooth experience for both mobile and desktop users.
